1. When to check...

  • Your amended return will take up to 3 weeks after you mailed it​ to show up on the IRS system.
  • Processing it ca​n take up to 16 weeks.

2. What you need...

  • Social Security Number 
  • Date of birth
  • Zip Code

  • Income tax return processing will begin February 1, 2022.

  • Please allow 90 business days to process a return and issue a refund.
  • All first-time Georgia income tax filers, or taxpayers who have not filed in Georgia for at least five years, will receive a paper check.
